Prior to starting his consulting career in 2001, Kobe was a financial and management executive in venture-backed start-up, turn-around, and technology growth companies.
Kobe’s ability to question client assumptions allows them to experience extraordinary growth for themselves, their teams, and their organizations. He specializes in developing excellence in strategy development, executive team development, high stakes conflict resolution, leadership development, organizational culture, and business process development. He is also a business advisor and executive coach who helps his clients identify their key concerns, reveal missing conversations, and develop the necessary leadership practices to bring their transformation to reality.
As a committed lifelong learner, Kobe actively focuses on embodying new distinctions that he shares with his clients. He was fortunate to work with Dr. Igor Ansoff, a distinguished strategic thinker and author, often referred to as the “father of strategic management.” Kobe is actively involved with the Institute for Generative Leadership, contributing to the development of the generative body of knowledge, and he is a frequent speaker at IGL conferences. In addition, Kobe teaches the Executive Program for Scientists and Engineers at UCSD Extension, where topics include building high performing teams, change management, and strategic management. He’s honored to be one of the 2010 class of 40 under 40 San Diego Brightest Young Leaders.
A native of Belgium, Kobe moved to San Diego in 1995 and became a US Citizen in 2010. He holds a BA in finance from KHLeuven in Belgium, and an MBA in strategic management from the Marshall Goldsmith School of Management. While working with Dr. Ansoff, he had the opportunity to complete extensive doctoral classes in strategic management.
He and his wife reside in San Diego, CA with their two teenage sons.
Kobe is dedicated to impacting leaders, so that they in turn can impact other leaders at a deeper level of awareness and everyone can thrive. This informs how he interacts with clients, colleagues, community, friends, and family. To give back to the community, Kobe has served as a committee or board member for organizations including the Rotary Club and the EvoNexus incubator.
