About Terrie Lupberger
I care about developing leaders, especially women, to identify and remove the barriers and limitations preventing them from making greater impact in their professional and personal lives. I care about waking people up to their leadership potential.
Altus is not just another consulting company. We are a tribe of highly skilled and deeply talented consultants, coaches and researchers that have a different approach to transform leadership and team performance For us, leadership is learnable, tangible, and reproducible in any organization or team.
Clients share that I’m highly skilled at noticing their blind spots and barriers – internal and systemic – that prevent them from being the kind of leader others want to work for. I listen deeply for what isn’t being said and for the missing conversations and competences needed for more effective performance, growth and personal well-being. My gift is bringing the insights and awareness needed to transform performance but with lightness and gentle irreverence.
My work crosses many business sectors and industries internationally. Clients have included senior level managers and teams from health care, education, finance, advertising, consumer goods, pharmaceuticals, technology, NGOs, and manufacturing. I’ve worked with many organizations including, Instead, Laureate, Google, Intel, DSM, Unilever, J&J, Raymond James, U.S. Dept. of Defense, Havas Edge, and Centura Health.
I’m an avid reader, salsa dancer and traveler. My home is in Boulder, Colorado where I live with my husband and we support the international work and travel of our entrepreneurial son.
I’m a pioneer in the field of coaching. I helped develop the core coaching competencies used today as the standard of coaching professionalism worldwide. A former Board Member of the International Coach Federation, I’ve managed coach training programs at three U.S. Universities, and am a contributing author to several books on coaching and leading. Currently, I teach executive coaching and leadership at the University of Miami and internationally in Asia and Europe.
My executive career has spanned 25+ and included Executive and CEO positions. I was the CEO of an international coach training and leadership development company, managing partner of an IT consulting firm and a Federal manager overseeing large-scale initiatives. I know first-hand what it takes to build teams, lead significant change and manage complexity.
I’m co-authoring a book for leaders, coaches and other change agents on how to make change stick and blog for the Huffington Post. I’m part of the coaching teams for the TED Fellows Program and the Sundance Women-In-Film Coaching Initiative.
